Deer Run Farm is looking for a dependable, hardworking individual to join our farm team as a weekend farmhand!

This is a part-time position consisting of 4-hour shifts on both Saturday and Sunday. Shifts may be scheduled in the morning or afternoon, in rotation with other part-time farmhands.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

-caring for and tending to our cats, dogs, pigs, chickens, and occasionally cattle

-providing feed, water, and general animal care

-cleaning and maintaining animal areas

-assisting with hatchery operations and hatchery-related tasks

-assisting with pen turnover, cleaning, and preparing pens for incoming birds

-organizing and moving birds as needed

-general farm cleaning and maintenance

-helping keep equipment, buildings, and work areas clean and organizes

-other farm tasks as needed

The ideal candidate is:

-dependable and punctual

-comfortable working around a variety of farm animals

-willing to get their hands dirty and work in all types of weather

-able to work independently and follow directions

-detail-oriented and attentive to animal care

-physically capable of performing routine farm tasks

-someone who takes pride in doing a job well and understands that animals require consistent care

Previous farm experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person! This is a great opportunity for a young person just starting in the career field, who is also looking for consistent weekend work and enjoys animals, the outdoors, and the hands-on nature of farm life. Compensation paid weekly at $15/hr.
