The no-till method of farming is not a new concept. In fact, it's a practice that's been done for more than 50 years now, but is only now becoming a more popular farming practice - and for good reason!
No-till drills allow for placement of seeds without having to disturb the topsoil beforehand. The reduced disturbance of the topsoil has many benefits to the over all soil health such as: reduced compaction, reduced soil erosion, increased organic matter, improved soil structure and better infiltration. All of which can lead to higher crop yields.
No-tilling is also a way for farmers to save money and be more efficient. When no-till farming, less equipment is used which also translates to less fuel and labor to get the job done allowing the farmer to save time and money.
