Pasture raised HERITAGE Chicken. Our chickens are Heritage breeds raised naturally on pasture so they use their muscles much more than your average store bought bird. This can make their meat tough and should be cooked on a lower temperature for a longer period of time. For instance, a crock pot recipe would be best. Allowing the meat to thaw for 3-5 days in a refrigerator will also allow it to tenderize well before cooking.
Each bird is approximately 3-3.5lbs. Yields enough meat for 4 people.
